Baum, Andrew
Andrew Baum is on the faculty at the University of Reading, England, in the Department of Land Management and Development. His research focuses on investment objects and strategy, the role of property in institutional portfolios and international property investment. His publications include many journal articles in The Journal of Real Estate Research, Real Estate Finance, and The Journal of Property Research. He is a Fellow of the Urban Land Institute and in The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He holds a BS, an MPhil, and PhD from the University of Reading.
Andrew Baum is on the faculty at the University of Reading, England, in the Department of Land Management and Development. Geltner, David
David Geltner is the George Macomber Professor and Professor of Real Estate Finance in the Department of Urban Studies & Planning, and Director of Research for the Center for Real Estate at the Massachusets Institute of Technology. As Director of Research for the MIT/CRE, Dr. Geltner heads MITbs Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) program. He was formerly the REEAC Professor of Real Estate in the Finance Department of the College of Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati, and has been teaching graduate level real estate investments and finance since 1989. Dr. Geltner also served from 1998-2004 as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Land Management of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Science at the University of Reading (England), a research appointment. Dr Geltner received his PhD in 1989 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in the Civil Engineering Department in the field of infrastructure finance and economics. He also has degrees in urban studies from Carnegie-Mellon University and the University of Michigan. Dr Geltner is also an Academic Fellow of the Urban Land Institute (2004-2007), a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute, and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Dr Geltner has published extensively in leading academic journals in the area of real estate economics, investment analysis, and performance measurement.

Edward Marchant is an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and teaches courses on real estate development and finance, and on the development, financing, and management of affordable housing. He also serves as a faculty member in Harvard's Executive Education Programs sponsored by the Kennedy School, the Extension School, the Design School, and the Divinity School. As a real estate professional working at the Community Builders, Inc., and later at John M. Corcoran Co., Mr. Marchant was actively involved in the development, financing, construction, and management of affordable housing, offices, and R&D real estate assets for more than 20 years. An independent real estate advisor since 1990, his clients include nonprofit and for-profit developers and investors, higher-education institutions, and governmental housing agencies. Mr. Marchant received a BA from Cornell University a MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Richard Peiser was appointed the first Michael D. Spear Professor of Real Estate Development at the Harvard Design School in 1998. He is the Academic Leader for the Advanced Management Development Program in Real Estate administered through Executive Education, and is also Director of the university-wide Real Estate Academic Initiative created in 2003. His primary research has focused on developing an understanding of the response of real estate developers to the market place and to the institutional environment in which they operate, particularly in the areas of urban redevelopment, affordable housing, and suburban sprawl. He is the author of Professional Real Estate Development: The ULI Guide to the Business, and Reducing Crime through Real Estate Development and Management as well as numerous articles on real estate finance, urban sprawl, low-income housing, and management of development firms. Through his development company and various partnerships, he has been active in apartment and housing development and in repositioning industrial properties. He is a former trustee of the Urban Land Institute.
