FRANK APESECHE is a Lecturer in Urban Planning and Design at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He also is the chief executive officer of The Berkshire Group and Berkshire Property Advisors, and serves as the chairman of Berkshire Realty Ventures. During his tenure, the company has sponsored two public REITs; a private buyout of an NYSE REIT; the largest multifamily GSE lender in the United States; a public nursing home and assisted living company; a hotel investment management company; three multifamily advisory firms; 13 discretionary real estate funds with over $6 billion of capitalization; and more than 50 partnerships and institutional joint ventures. Previously, Professor Apeseche was the founding partner of BG Affiliates, chief financial officer of Berkshire, and manager of Accenture. He has served on the board of directors of Berkshire Mortgage Finance, Berkshire Realty Holdings, Lodging Capital Partners, Surebridge Inc., K-Bro Linen Systems Inc., and Aspen Furniture. Apeseche also functioned as a public company officer of two REITs and as an expert witness to the U.S. Congress on behalf of the National Multi Housing Council and National Apartment Association. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA from Cornell University.
