MARTHA O'MARA is a leading authority on the integration of corporate real estate planning with business strategic planning. Her book, Strategy and Place: Managing Corporate Real Estate and Facilities for Competitive Advantage was published in 1999 by The Free Press. Ms. O’Mara holds her own consulting practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and recently co-founded Corporate Portfolio Analytics, a joint venture with Torto Wheaton Research and has consulted to or developed executive education programs for a number of companies including Bank of America, Fidelity, Sprint, Hines, Equity Office Properties, Grubb and Ellis, SBC, and the General Services Administration, among others. From 1989 to 1998 she was an assistant professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She has published in the Journal of Applied Real Property Analysis, the Journal of Real Estate Research and is a founding editor of The Journal of Corporate Real Estate. Ms. O’Mara holds a PhD in Organizational Behavior jointly awarded by the Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). She also has an MA in Sociology from Harvard GSAS and an MBA from the HBS. Her BA is from the University of California, Irvine.
