April Philips, FASLA, is author of Designing Urban Agriculture and Principal, April Philips Design Works, San Rafael, CA. April Philips is a national leader in both research and practice associated with urban agriculture. Her recently published book is a comprehensive guide to urban agriculture, from initial planning and design through successful construction, maintenance, and management. She is the founding principal of the award-winning April Philips Design Works in California's Bay Area. Her recent projects include the incorporation of urban edibles and habitats in the urban realm.
