SPENCER G. LEVY is an Executive Managing Director for CBRE Capital Markets. Mr. Levy is part of senior management for the Capital Markets platform in the United States. Mr. Levy provides leadership for the Capital Markets business lines such as Retail, Strategic Accounts, Investment Banking, and Recovery and Restructuring Services. For each Capital Market business line, he provides real estate services for all retail investment assets owned by institutions throughout the United States, offers a unified service approach for CBRE’s largest institutional clients, gives strategic, M&A, and other capital advice to public and large private real estate companies, and provides advice to buyers and sellers of large portfolios of distressed assets. Mr. Levy is a frequent lecturer at real estate industry events and is often quoted in prominent real estate publications. Mr. Levy was the co-winner of the prestigious 2010 CBRE Gary J. Beban Teamwork Award, which awards professionals responsible for securing large awards using a multi-disciplinary approach. Mr. Levy currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. Prior to joining CBRE, he was a Principal at Stifel Nicolaus, formerly Legg Mason Capital Markets, one of the most active and diverse real estate investment banking practices in the United States. As Principal, he was responsible for leading overall execution several major merger and acquisition assignments. Mr. Levy played a significant role in the initial public offering of six REITs, as well as dozens of other public and private capital-raising transactions. Previously, Mr. Levy was Assistant General Counsel of the Witkoff Group, one of the largest property owners in New York City. He also practiced real estate law at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson and Jones Day Reavis & Pogue.
