Public Transportation

The Office of Executive Education and Gund Hall are both located within walking distance from the Harvard Square MBTA subway/bus station. See directions and map below. Driving is not recommended due to limited parking in the Cambridge area. If you choose to drive, see Driving Directions below.

Local

Take the MBTA Red Line or bus to Harvard Square. Follow directions below from Harvard Square to Gund Hall.

From Logan International Airport to Harvard Square

From all terminals, take the Silver Line bus to South Station. At South Station, take the Red Line subway outbound (Alewife) to Harvard Square. Follow directions below from Harvard Square to Gund Hall.

From Harvard Square to Gund Hall (Harvard Design School)

From the Out of Town News stand in the center of Harvard Square, walk east along Massachusetts Avenue, passing Harvard Yard on the left and Au Bon Pain on the right.  Within a few blocks the road forks. Turn left onto Quincy Street and walk two blocks, crossing Broadway and Cambridge Streets. Gund Hall is at the corner of Cambridge and Quincy Streets.

Bicycle

Hubway Bike Share Program

Hubway is a bike sharing system providing more than 1,300 bikes at 140 stations throughout Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville. Bikes can be picked up and returned at any of the 140+ stations across the network, including 12 supported by Harvard University -- one right in front of Gund Hall. Choose between an Annual Membership, Monthly Membership, 72-Hour Pass or 24-Hour Pass. View the Hubway station map.

Driving Directions to Harvard Square

From Logan International Airport

Exit the airport and follow signs for Route I-90 West via the Ted Williams Tunnel (toll). Follow I-90 West to Exit 20--Brighton/Cambridge (toll). Bear right on the exit, following signs for Cambridge. At the end of the exit, continue straight through two sets of lights and over the River Street Bridge (over the Charles River). After crossing the river, take a left at the second light onto Putnam Avenue. Follow Putnam Avenue for approximately one mile. At the end of the street, you will come to Massachusetts Avenue, turn left to Harvard Square. Seek parking (see list of local parking garages below), then follow directions above from Harvard Square to either location.

From the South

Follow I-93 North towards Boston. At Boston, take the exit onto I-90 West (Mass Pike). Continue with the directions from the airport.

From the North

Follow I-93 South towards Boston. Take the Storrow Drive/Cambridge exit on the right. This is a long exit, approximately two miles. At the end of the exit, bear to the left onto Storrow Drive West. Follow Storrow Drive for approximately 1.5 miles. Take the Massachusetts Avenue/Cambridge exit. At the end of the exit, turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. This will take you across the Charles River into Cambridge. After crossing the river, continue on Massachusetts Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles. Seek parking (see list of local parking garages below), then follow directions above from Harvard Square to either location.

From the West

Heading east on Route 90 (Mass Pike), take Exit 18--Brighton/Cambridge (toll). At the end of the exit, continue straight through two sets of lights and over the River Street Bridge (over the Charles River). After crossing the river, take a left at the second light onto Putnam Avenue. Follow Putnam Avenue for approximately one mile. At the end of the street, you will come to Massachusetts Avenue, turn left to Harvard Square. Harvard University On-Campus Visitor Parking

A limited number of daily passes are available for purchase from Harvard University Parking Services. Log in as a Visitor -- you will need your license plate # and the GSD department code 1001.

Everett Garage is the most convenient parking facility for Summer/Fall 2017 Exec Ed programs.
