Jeffrey M. Hoover, AIA, Principal, TappĆ© Architects, Boston, has been actively involved in library design for the past 3 decades. He is Principal and Library Design Director for the architectural firm of TappĆ© Architects, Inc. and responsible for dozens of library projects from historic library renovations and expansions to contemporary new library construction. He is a current member of and former Chair of the ALA Architecture for Public Libraries Committee and has presented programs on current library planning issues at ALA annual conventions, served as a panelist for Library Journal’s “Design Institute” since its inception, is an invited speaker for library planning and design forums across the country, and a participant in recent ACRL and Library Journal sponsored webinars. His recent design work on the Varina Area Library was honored with a joint award from the American Institutes of Architects and the American Library Association for excellence in library design. He studied sustainable design at Arizona State University and received a Bachelorā€™s Degree in Architecture from the University of Oregon.
