SCOTT SIMPSON, FAIA, LEED AP, is an award-winning architect, a Richard Upjohn Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, and a Senior Fellow and board member of the Design Futures Council. During the course of his 40+ year career, he has been a principal in five different firms and President & CEO of two, including The Stubbins Associates, Cambridge, MA. He is a Trustee of New England College and a former Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Boston Children’s Museum.

Mr. Simpson has published more than 200 articles on issues of innovation in the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry as well as four books: How Firms SucceedThe Next Architect—A New Twist on the Future of DesignLessons from the Future; and Small Firm Success. He has lectured at schools of architecture across the US and has been a frequent speaker at conferences and symposia worldwide, including 20 AIA national conventions. He has received the “Hall of Fame” award from the Massachusetts Building Congress and the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Connecticut Construction Institute.
