Tobi Fagbule leads and delivers a portfolio of international projects within the CarbonLab team at AS+GG Architecture and oversees the research, analytical and design application of energy and carbon platforms for the Firm.
With a background in architecture, research, and sustainability, specializing in building performance and carbon strategy across supertall and large-scale developments, her research experience includes the impact of vegetative wall systems on building cooling loads, the legacy of resource extraction on oil-producing urban regions, and the application of machine learning techniques to environmental performance prediction. Fagbule’s professional experience includes the development and application of sustainability strategies for large-scale urban master plans, high-rise buildings, and complex mixed-use developments.
She has also worked extensively on energy and carbon reduction and renewable energy initiatives at building and urban scales. With a focus on operational and embodied carbon reduction, energy performance optimization, and net-zero alignment, she leverages advanced simulation, parametric design, and machine learning techniques to integrate data analytics with architectural design. She also has experience developing sustainability metrics and performance frameworks for architectural and master planning projects, supporting measurement, benchmarking, and improvement of environmental impact across design and operational portfolios. Her work combines technical analysis, research, and strategic advisory to advance low-carbon, resource-efficient built environments.
Fagbule holds a Master of Design Studies in Ecologies from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University. Her research has been presented at the International Building Physics Conference and published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series. She holds LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP credentials and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics at Westcliff University.
