Aida Nessimi
Program Interview
Aida Nessimi attended Integrated Project Management: Reduce Risks, Increase Collaboration, and Ensure Scalable Project Success with us, her first GSD Exec Ed open enrollment program. We recently asked her about her experience:
Tell me a little about your background:
Although I have worked in real estate for many years, I do not have an educational background in construction project management or real estate, as my BA is in Biology with a minor in secondary science education. In recent years, in addition to my part-time work as a broker, I worked as an Assistant Project Manager in a high-profile interior renovation project for a Fortune 500 company. I recently passed both a real estate broker exam and am now a LEED Green Associate – I believe self-study and lifelong learning are indispensable parts of success in real estate.
How did you hear about the program, and why did you decide to attend?
A mentor of mine told me about this program when I was working for a real estate startup. They said that developers should approach real estate as project managers and problem solvers and recommended this program to develop those skills. One of the most highly recommended project management approaches I have heard of is Tony Masons’ IGMP process, and this course is the best way to learn that.
What impact has the program had on you since you attended?
As a real estate broker, I have to know every facet of the business. I am now able to talk to investors and developers more confidently because I have a better understanding of the process from A to Z. This program gave me insider knowledge of what happens when a construction site is being developed.
